Aria grew up in Shiraz, Iran. At the age of eighteen, he moved to the United States where he obtained a degree in Comparative Literature at San Diego State University. He taught Persian at the Iranian School of San Diego for five years. While working at the school, he compiled and published a textbook for the teaching of advanced Persian for heritage learners. He is an editor for the US-based bilingual publication, Peyk and also writes for various other publications. He currently teaches English in Queretaro, Mexico.
His research and studies include Contemporary Persian Poetry and Post-Modern American Literature. Aria’s other passion is photography.
